                Document Description

The project is limited to the treatment of 26 stream crossings, as part of a larger sediment reduction project on the Pepperwood Preserve, in the Mark West Creek watershed. Project elements include: the installation of critical dips at certain stream crossings to prevent stream diversions, the cleaning of culvert inlets and outlets to improve water and debris capacity, the installation of a new culverts at previous unculverted fill sites to reduce the likelihood of a mass fill failure, replacement of undersized or damaged culverts, decommission of stream crossings no longer needed, rock armoring or fill slopes to prevent erosion, and armoring wet crossings to reduce sediment and improve durability. The project also includes a number of activities outside stream areas, including installation of rolling dips, road out sloping, and new ditch relief culverts, that will help decrease the hydraulic connectivity of the road system and reduce sediment inputs into Mark West Creek.
