The High Sierra Ranger District is requesting approximately $350,000 in funding from the Sierra Nevada Conservancy's Proposition 84 Safe Drinking Water, Water Quality and Supply, Flood Control, River and Coastal Protection Grant Program to reduce hazardous fuels and restore ecological components in the Soaproot Stewardship Project area in the Sierra National Forest. This project would reduce fuel loads and fire hazards, improve wildlife habitat and watershed conditions, and encourage forest growth.
