Document Description
The proposed activity will replace a four-span, 61-foot-long timber stringer trestle ballast deck bridge with a four-span, 120-foot long prestressed concrete box girder bridge. The proposed structure includes raising the track five inches to accommodate high flow events. A temporary causeway, consisting of clean fill and three 43-foot long, 48-inch corrugated metal pipes underlain by geotextile fabric, will be constructed to the east of the existing bridge. The temporary causeway will be used to replace the existing bridge structure. Proposed staging areas are located on all four corners of the bridge within the right-of-way. The purpose of the proposed project is to continue and improve passenger and freight rail service in the region by replacing the existing structure that has outlived its useful life.
