Document Description
Metropolitan’s Upper Feeder pipeline conveys untreated water from Lake Mathews in the City of Riverside to the Eagle Rock Control Facility in the City of Los Angeles. The water is treated at the F.E. Weymouth Water Treatment Plant in the City of La Verne and distributed to its member agencies within Metropolitan’s service area. On April 13, 2022, a leak was discovered in the expansion joint at the Upper Feeder pipeline. Inspections of the expansion joint concluded the joint is compromised and needs immediate repair. The project consists of emergency repair activities to the Upper Feeder expansion joint at the Santa Ana River Bridge crossing. The activities include shutting down and dewatering the Upper Feeder, replacing the expansion joint, and realigning the pipeline back onto the rubber isolators.
