The applicant is requesting a Minor Use Permit for a Special Events Facility per Butte County Chapter 24-175.1. The proposed Special Events Facility, known as “the Barn” will take place on the 79.47 acre parcel zoned Agriculture 20 – Acre minimums (AG-20). The venue area encompasses 1.36 acres and includes a 3,551 square foot pole barn, parking area, and lawn. There is over 10,000 square feet of outdoor garden space, adjacent to the barn. The parcel contains a walnut orchard, single family residence and accessory structures, in addition to the 5,008 square foot pole barn, which has an interior net square footage of 3,551 square feet. The event facility’s maximum capacity is 225 people. The venue will host a maximum of 40 events per year. No events are planned for the month of October to allow for walnut harvest operations.
