Document Description
The project is limited to the excavation of excess deposited sediment within a legacy onstream pond. Accumulated sediment has caused the water level in the pond to rise and overtop the domestic access road over the impounding embankment of the pond, creating the potential for washout. If flowing water is present at the time of project activities, a clear water diversion will be installed to preserve flows immediately downstream of the project site. In this event, a sandbag dam will isolate flows upstream of the project site and collected water will be gravity fed through a pipe into the channel just downstream of the impoundment. Additionally, the condition of the 12-inch corrugated metal pipe (CMP) overflow culvert will be inspected after the pond is dewatered and, if found deficient, will be upgraded to a larger CMP over the course of project activities.
