Sanborn County Park Nursery Demolition and Remediation Project

The Project Site (16000 Sanborn Road) is a former commercial nursery near the southeast corner of Pick Road and Sanborn Road,. The site is part of Sanborn County Park but is not currently open to the public. County Parks intends to remove the debris and trash, demolish the majority of buildings and structures from the site, and excavate contaminated soils associated with these features, so that the area can eventually be developed and operated as a public campground as planned in the Sanborn County Park Master Plan. The Proposed Project would include demolition of 19 structures and fixed equipment, including their foundations, and removal of all demolition debris (approximately 12,000 cubic yards) from the Project Site. Approximately 12,000 cubic yards of contaminated soil would also be excavated and removed from the site. The majority of trees within the dump and debris sites would be removed to facilitate Project implementation. Following completion of demolition and removal activities, work areas would be backfilled to approximately the existing ground level and hydroseeded.
