The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes storm water improvements at the Castella Sandhouse in Shasta County near Interstate 5 at postmile 67. The storm water improvements will direct drainage flow and collect sediment before it enters the nearby waterways. Project activities include the installation of a sand trap with rock slope protection (RSP) pad, repaving of the parking lot including the addition of curb and gutters, and the replacement of chain-link fence.
