Document Description
The environmental effects of IID's Clubhouse Plot Study Project where assessed in a CEQA Addendum, dated August 2021, to the Final Environmental Impact Report/Environmental Impact Statement for the Water Conservation and Transfer Project (State Clearinghouse No. 99091142), as amended. The Addendum did not identify any new potentially significant environmental impacts or new mitigation measures related to IID’s Water Conservation and Transfer Project. The Clubhouse Plot Study Project proposes the development of sufficient groundwater to establish and sustain vegetation cover on approximately 58.57 acres and the implementation of waterless dust control measures (DCMs) on an additional 13.68 acres to provide dust control along the perimeter of the Salton Sea as part of the Imperial Irrigation District’s 2019/2020 Proactive Dust Control Plan of the Salton Sea Air Quality Management Plan. The proposed project would be comprised of: (1) development (drilling, testing and operations) of one deep groundwater water well (approximately 300 feet deep) and up to three shallow groundwater wells (approximately 100 feet deep) and associated solar-powered pumps, 5,000-gallon storage tanks, conveyance pipelines, and access roads; (2) vegetation of 58.57 acres with seeded or transplanted iodine bush; and (3) implementation of waterless DCMs including placement of hay bales and sand fencing.
